Our Board.

As a not-for-profit incorporated association, TKC is required to have a ‘management committee’ or ‘board’ that is responsible for looking after the association’s affairs and has specific legal duties under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.
The board comprises representatives of the broader local community (Kyneton and surrounding areas) from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience.

Board Member Biographies.

  • John Dettmann

    Board Chair

    John is a local farmer and church leader who has been involved with The Kindness Collective since its inception. He has a heart for serving people and a vision for TKC that seeks to maximise its potential and keep people as its central focus.

  • Russell Schoenfisch

    Deputy Chair & Treasurer

    Russell is a business leader with a strong desire to make a positive impact in every situation. He has an aviation engineering background in the Air Force, but has spent the last 20 years helping organisations to achieve their strategic objectives. His logical, intentional mindset enables him to quickly understand each situation, introduce innovation and energy, and achieve results.

    He is also a local church leader, with a desire to see people come to faith and prosper in their individual walk with God. His motivation is to faithfully serve God and others, and to help the church to grow and to have a powerful impact in the community. Part of this ministry involves the enabling of The Kindness Collective to meet the physical needs of people in the Kyneton area.

    Russell and Cheryl have two grown sons and two big Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. They live on a nearby country property and have no intention of ever returning to live in the city!

  • Cheryl Schoenfisch

    Secretary

    Cheryl is an accomplished administrator with many years of service in small business and community organisations. Her primary areas of activity have been the facilitation of sales and customer management using the usual office management and book keeping tools. Her interpersonal skills allow her to form and maintain strong, long lasting relationships with people of all backgrounds.

    She is actively involved in her local church committee as the treasurer, and has been a coordinator and registrar of students in the Good News Postal Bible Club for more than 40 years. She volunteers in The Kindness Collective Op Shop and is keen to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the important work of The Kindness Collective in the local community.

    Cheryl is married to Russell and has two adult sons. She is a very happy resident of the local rural community.

  • Emilio Rossi

    Board Member

    Emilio joined the board in September 2021, having previously been involved with TKC for many years as a key volunteer.

    A carpenter by trade, Emilio is the Co-director of Elite Homes which has built or restored many homes within the Woodend and surrounding areas. Emilio’s skills have also been utilised in the recent renovations of the food bank and op shop.

    Emilio has lived in Woodend for 12 years with his wife and two daughters. His wife works at a local primary school which both daughters also attended.

    Emilio’s family has been involved in many community groups and committees over the years. They love nothing better than helping those in need.

  • Rhonda Holmes

    Board Member

    Rhonda has had an extensive career covering many different industries. Whilst the industries have been completely different and diverse the common denominator with all businesses is that they have all required Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain and Distribution Channels.

    Currently an Executive Board Member of the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI) Australia. IWFCI is an non Governmental Not For Profit supporting women entering business and developing trade across the globe, engaging like-minded entrepreneurs to grow their business in a supportive network. With Chapters in Australia, Singapore, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Mongolia, Japan, Indonesia, South Africa, Algeria, Myanmar, Russia, USA and Bangladesh, providing a support network for women in business.

    Rhonda is currently the Director of Providence Keepers, providing housing support for women and children in crisis in the Macedon Ranges.

    Rhonda is a long time resident of the Macedon Ranges having lived and worked in the region for over 40 years.
